Ian D. Withers is a legendary international investigator whose six-decade career spans journalism-informed tradecraft, covert operations, and national-level intelligence work. As CEO of Priority Investigations Group from 1987 to 2010, Ian conducted politically sensitive and high-profile assignments, from tracking IRA suspects to thwarting coup attempts and reuniting abducted children. He served as National Security Advisor to the President of Seychelles, leveraging his investigative expertise to safeguard the nation during turbulent periods.
A founding member and long-serving Chairman of the World Association of Professional Investigators (WAPI), Ian represented both UK and Irish private investigators in policy negotiations with national governments and served on the governing council from 2001 to 2014. He holds advanced professional qualifications, including City & Guilds NVQ Level 4 in Investigations and a B‑Tech IQ Level 3 in Professional Investigations, and is the author of the memoir Private Eye, Secret Spy, recounting decades of investigative intrigue.
